We are incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by many excellent local businesses. Don’t miss the opportunity to stop by for a visit during your stay:

3 to 5mins drive away

Parcelles is a farm-to-table hidden gem established during the pandemic. It didn’t surprise us to see it appear on Canada’s top 100 Best Restaurants list in 2023. Treat yourself, you won’t regret it. Make sure to book in advance, spaces fill up quickly! 3mins/3.1kms

Mélange Maison serves excellent coffee, freshly made desserts, and a variety of ever-changing (and always delicious) comfort food. Open from Friday to Sunday. 3mins/3.4kms

Marché Austin Dépanneur is the place to go for all your basic needs. As an ‘Agence SAQ’ they even have a small but quite decent selection of wines. 4mins/3.6kms

L’APEA (more recently re-named the ‘Carrefour Austin’) is a church-turned-community-venue where live music is offered up. Get your tickets in advance, these shows often sell out quickly. 4mins/3.6kms

Boulangerie les Herbes Hautes is a bakery that specializes in using local & seasonal ingredients. Zoe is simply a bread and pastry genius, and her creations can be enjoyed on weekends throughout the summer as well as during the winter holiday season. 4mins/3.8kms

5 to 15mins drive away

Built in 1938, the Saint-Benoît-du-lac Monestary is a popular destination. The Abbey’s Gregorian chant ceremonies are open to the public year round, as well as their boutique where you can find their popular cheeses, ciders, and more. Orchards are open during apple-picking season. 6mins/5.7km

If you’re looking to relax,
Spa Nordic Station is a must-do. Tucked into the woods you will find Finnish saunas, California baths, a steam crypt, cold plunges, and so much more (including massages, of course). We highly recommend. 9mins/11km

Bleu Lavande is located en route towards the town of Magog. It’s had mixed reviews since it relocated from Fitch Bay to Magog in 2021 but if you go on a beautiful day when the plants are in bloom, it’s sure to be a memorable visit. 11mins/12.5kms

On Sunday’s from Spring to Autumn, the
Magog Farmer’s Market is definitely a worthwhile visit. Don’t forget to pack towels and a bathing suit - the market is just steps away from Magog’s best public beach. There’s also a playground for the little ones and a place to enjoy some pub food. 13mins/13.5kms

I used to drop my kids off at school and then head straight to the
Marais de la Rivière-aux-Cerises for a beautiful brisk walk before I’d start my work day. With a variety of trails to chose from, you can easily cater your walk to accommodate your schedule. But I do highly recommend the ‘Sentier des Pionner’ trail because there’s just something about walking through a marsh on a raised pier that is very pretty and quite satisfying. 12mins/13.1kms

15 to 30mins drive away

I could list the establishments worth visiting in the town of Magog here but it would take me a whole other page. There are restos, pubs, ice cream parlors, bakeries, grocery stores, boutiques, and so on (a special shout out to Tavern 1855 if you’re looking for a date night recommendation). Park your car, walk around and explore. There’s a lot to discover! 16mins/15kms

Boasting 44 trails and 18 glades, it’s no wonder that
Mont-Orford Ski hill is arguably the most popular destination in this area during the winter months. 16mins/16.9kms

No matter the time of year,
Orford National Park has something to offer. It is full of hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country ski, mountain and Fatbike trails. You can also enjoy lakes and beaches in the summer months. 17mins/18kms to ‘Lac Stukely’ entrance

Golfers will enjoy their proximity to the
Owl’s Head Golf course. Set on the side of the mountain, the views are spectacular. 18 holes. 18mins/20kms

Owl’s Head Ski hill is probably this area’s best kept secret. The runs are absolutely phenomenal and the line-ups are less crowded than Orford. Living sandwiched between the two mountains, this is the hill we keep coming back to. 19mins/20kms

Knowlton is a picturesque village that is the commercial and cultural center of Brome Lake. Here you will find antique furniture stores, a couple of cafés and restaurants, and a number of boutiques. We highly recommend a burger on the terrace of the
Knowlton Marina, or enjoy a wood-fired pizza and the cozy friendly vibe of La Knowlton Co. 24mins/24kms

30mins+ drive away

Villages like Dunham, Sutton, Bromont, Eastman, Georgeville, Fitch Bay, Ayer’s Cliff, North Hatley, Coaticook, and many others are all not too far away and each has their own unique personality. Take in the landscape as you drive or bike along these pretty country roads. And watch out for the deer!
